Mixed Media
What is mixed media? A mixed media work of art is one in which more than one medium has been incorporated. Media can be wet (gesso, paint, wax, spray, gel medium) or dry (paper, wood, fiber, beads, mica). An example is a drawing done with pen and ink, then painted with watercolor. A canvas that uses miscellaneous papers applied with gesso is another example. If you ever created a paper mache globe or mask in school, you have done mixed media!
